Silverstone Temjin 05 PDF Print E-mail
Written by RotoSequence

Silverstone’s TJ05 is a mixed bag. On the outside it is a gorgeous package, and on the inside, it is a roomy, comfortable beast to work with. But underlying flaws make the TJ05 less desirable than their advertised features would lead you to believe. Read on to find out exactly what we think of Silverstone’s premier Server and Workstation chassis.

The TJ05 arrived in just its retail packaging, but that was more than enough to protect the un-damaged hybrid Aluminum and Steel computer case inside. Initial impressions left me floored; the TJ05 is quite simply one of the prettiest cases I have seen, although aesthetic appeal has always been a matter of personal preference.

The TJ05 has extraordinarily strong construction; made with aluminum front panels and .8mm SECC Steel construction, the TJ05’s total packaging weight is a staggering 36 pounds! This is definitely not a case that you want to lug around to LAN parties-or much of anywhere for that matter.

The TJ05 is available in four varieties. The Variety of color is limited to Silver and Black. The additional two models come from the optional FP-52 thermal controller integrated into the front bezel; just remember though, this adds another $40 to the price tag. Auspiciously, every variant of this case has this brag list brought along with it;

  • Compatibility with Extended ATX, Standard ATX and Micro-ATX motherboards
  • Polished door panels
  • Additional hard drive and VGA cooling capabilities
  • High gloss finish
  • Tool-less design
  • 4 exposed 5.25” drive bays, 2 exposed 3.5” drive bays, 8 hidden 3.5” bays
  • 2x 120mm fans; 1x intake, 1x Exhaust, rated at 21 DBA each
  • 7 expansion slots
  • 4 USB 2.0 ports, 1 headphone jack, 1 microphone jack, and 1 firewire port
  • Compatibility with standard PS2 power Supplies and Redundant PSUs.
