Valve Orange Box Release PDF Print E-mail
Written by [t0rc]
If you haven't read anything about it yet Valve is releasing the Orange Box set on October 10th - this coming Wednesday. With two days to go, everyone is waiting to play the games in the Orange Box. For those of us who have followed the Half-Life saga from Black Mesa to Episode 1, we've been waiting for Episode 2. Well here it is with a few more games.
Perhaps the most impressive thing about this whole deal is that it is ridiculously priced. You get Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Team Fortress 2, and Portal for less than the usual $50 that we pay for one single game. This is quite possibly the best deal to ever hit the shelves for PC gamers. The second installment in the episodic series of extensions to Half-Life 2 has had a lot of video coverage on Steam, including gameplay footage, which has helped increase the hype and kept users salivating for the release date.

Pre-order now on Steam and you can download the files so when it comes out on October 10, you will be set to go. Pre-loading the games is probably your best bet to getting to play them when they release because of high server traffic on the 10th.

We're sure that many of you are going to stay up all night beating Episode 2, fragging away on Team Fortress 2, and teleporting through walls on Portal, so enjoy the release and GG. Pending no big glitches, it should be one for the books.
