Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC2-8500 memory kit DDR-2 not dead yet
"DDR-3 is now coming to the desktop thanks again to Intel. DDR-3 in its early form has been shown to not only outperform DDR-2 at clock for clock speeds (something DDR-2 could not do over DDR-1), but DDR-3 is able to clock higher than DDR-2 could ever dream of, in fact we managed 1500MHz DDR-3 speeds in our recent tests. Today we are stepping back from DDR-3 and looking at some DDR-2 modules from Crucial Technology. While DDR-3 is the future for Intel platforms, DDR-2 is still the mainstream product for Intel as well as the only memory technology currently supported by AMD and its Athlon 64 processors which have memory controllers on the CPU."

An Inconvenient Truth about your PC gaming
"You thought you knew what controversy was, well we are talking it to the next level as we bring you The Inconvenient Truth... about your PC gaming! Al Gore would be proud. With our new toy, the Prova Power Analyzer WM-01, or as popular TweakTown staff like refer to it – that power thingy, it was time to get down and dirty to see what your games are doing to the environment. Are multiplayer gamers that play games based on the Source engine looking after the environment more than those playing Prey? And which game type is better, FPS or RTS? There was only one way to find out, to do our normal array of benchmarks and see what results that new super dopper power thingy gave us."

Ubuntu Goes Ultraportable
In attempt to get the most possible from the P7230 I decided to completely remove Vista in favor of Ubuntu 7.04. This popular version of desktop Linux does not have manufacturer support from Fujitsu, but has a number of advantages over Vista, including a few that will be especially important to a notebook. Basically what I wanted from Ubuntu was an operating system that was less demanding on my hardware resources and would allow me to make the most of the notebook.

Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Review
"The installation of the voltage regulator sink and the RAM-sinks was pretty simple: just peel and stick (and screw, with the voltage regulator) or so I thought. Turns out that, unlike its cousin the Accelero X2 (where the RAM-sinks are said not to come off), these ones didn't stay on! After lots of futzing and frustration, I decided to plop my hard-covered A Friendly Introduction to Number Theory, by Joseph Silverman, on the card, compressing the RAM-sinks. On top of that, I put two high-school yearbooks. Twenty minutes did the trick, and I moved on to the real deal."
