G15 Gaming Keyboard PDF Print E-mail
Written by [t0rc]
PC gaming is a big industry and everyone, whether playing for fun or a check, wants to look their best and top the scoreboard. Even if you have the best duo of next-gen video cards, the best high-end processor, and overall just the newest and most elite components on the market, you still can't fire a round without good peripherals. We have low settings to compensate for lacking hardware but there isn't a solution for an inadequate keyboard. The G15 adds a LCD that supports games and other applications to help you take the opposition as well as 18 programmable G keys. Stick a macro or a keystroke to them and you're ready to play. Don't like the macro you set for G12? Change it in-game. Tired of minimizing with the Windows key when you meant mash some other key? Flip the switch on the G15 to game mode and render the Windows key inactive. Logitech went through a lot of trouble to create a gaming keyboard that would live up to gamers needs and expectations while providing them with something new and beneficial. Take a look inside and find out exactly what the G15 has to offer and if it is up to snuff.

Introduction

Everything in the box arrived without damage, just as it should. Upon seeing the box and based on things that we'd read about the G15 we were skeptical about how useful the LCD would be — especially for gaming. In using the diNovo from Logitech we found that the LCD was great to have however while gaming it served no gaming specific purpose(s). Has the G15 converted the LCD into a substantial advantage for gamers? Time to find out, let's start with the specs and some quotes from Logitech's page.

The Logitech® G15 keyboard offers gamers an unprecedented level of in-game information, programmability and control. Its adjustable-tilt, backlit LCD display shows you crucial information during game play, and lets you set timers to keep track of game events.

The 18 programmable "G Keys" allow you to execute macros—like casting spells in World of Warcraft—with a single button press, and the backlit keys are great for lights-out play. The G15 also features a switch that turns off the 'Windows' key, so hitting that button accidentally won't end your game.

The Logitech® G15 keyboard is completely customizable to help you play better. Try it and you'll never go back to a standard keyboard.

  • View game stats. Use the GamePanel™ LCD to view game stats, create new macros, and keep track of important system information without leaving the game. The LCD panel closes completely for transport and storage.
  • Play in the dark. Illuminated characters are easily visible in both bright- and low-light conditions, with three levels of backlighting for late-night gaming sessions.
  • Create and save macros with a press of a button. 18 fully programmable “G Keys” have three shift states each, for 54 possible custom macros per game
  • Eliminate cable hassles! Intelligently route mouse, headset, or other cables using convenient channels under the keyboard.
  • Record custom key sequences. Make on-the-fly additions to your key programming set with Macro Record button.
  • Watch and listen. Convenient media keys for easy management of audio and video playback.
