Performance and Conclusion

While gaming one issue we had was what we mentioned before, the outside pinky button. Whether you're left or right handed there will be one outside button and it is a pain to hit. However we do understand the move to put the button there as it's a move to create a more ambidextrous-friendly mouse. It's a trade off. After seeing this we prefer a molded mouse (but the issue here is that not many molded lefty mice exist). The sensitivity button is reachable but a +/- set of buttons (similar to what is on the G5) would be nice instead of having to going around the horn to reach the one you want. Otherwise the gaming experience was good. The G3 allowed for very precise movements and the sensitivity changing is great for sniping.

Despite a few issues, the G3 is a pretty good mouse. Laser precision, on-the-fly sensitivity changing, and the high DPI are all great features to have. With the sensitivity changing we suggest using only two or three settings to start out with instead of the five available. In fast-paced games you'll need to switch dpi quickly and searching through five to find the one you want takes time. Time that may get you turned into gib very quickly. Once the settings are memorized it is very easy to navigate but before that switching may be a little awkward. The price won't hurt you too much (after release we're sure it'll drop even further) and for a gamer that doesn't need the weights or a fast-charging wireless mouse, the G3 might just fit your needs. A few fixes and this might be the best budget gaming mouse out there today. All things considered we present the G3 with a Silver Award.

Thanks goes to Logitech for making this review possible.
