Designed to be an innovative solution for containing your machine, this case boasts screw-less drive and peripheral insertion, a removable Power Supply and plate system to simplify installation, and a patented wind tunnel designed to improve airflow over the CPU. Silverstone’s Temjin 06 Tower case is our third Silverstone Case review; as with their previous cases, this too is an expression of exquisite minimalist design. The front’s vertical lines increase the sense of height of this case, which is already an impressive tower.

Provided on the left side from the front are USB, Firewire and audio jacks. They are decently integrated into the chassis, though they would be more accessible on the right side, or preferably, the front.

Made from anodized aluminum, the front panel assembly is a single piece without a door. However, it does swing open, revealing the internal assembly. To open this, a key is provided to unlock it.

Inside, the mesh behind the front intake is made visible. While it keeps the visuals consistent, this is also a source of vibration; the case front can wiggle a bit, and a high pitched, muffled rattle results when the case is tapped.

To open the chassis, Silverstone uses plastic clips which lock the panels in place. A good idea in theory, but in practice, it can be difficult to get them in place, and remembering which side is lock and unlock can make the process tedious. However, these plastic pieces are removable, and conventional screws can be used on the 120mm mounts.

If yours lacks a window, opening up the case will reveal the Temjin 06’s most prominent feature; the flaunted wind tunnel. It is relatively easy to remove, but the process isn’t quite intuitive. To allow the use of this device on a dual processor motherboard, an attachment goes onto the tunnel to increase the size. However, this will not work on all motherboards.
