There's a lot of new technology and hardware hitting the market at all times. In an ever changing and advancing industry, how does that impact your mods? Do you feel obligated to always have the best hardware in your rig?
I am a gamer and a modder. Being a PC gamer is very demanding on what parts you need to have to run all the new games. Therefore, I am constantly looking to get the newest graphic card to run the newest games. If I was just a modder, I wouldn’t care what parts were in my computer, they would just have to work.
A lot of people think that geeks/modders are just some bunch of nerds with lab coats, advanced tools, thick rim glasses, able to solve the mysteries of the universe but have no interpersonal skills and basically lacking social substance. Comments?
I don’t wear lab coats. I don’t use any advanced tools, I use only the average everyday tools you could find in your garage. I don’t wear or own thick rim glasses, but I do have contacts. I am just your average teenager, with average interpersonal skills. I have plenty of friends that do average things.
If there was one thing that you could buy, regardless of price, what would it be, and why?
My own island, so I could do whatever I wanted on it.
How much time have you put into this modding competition?
In CM4, I put in too many hours to count. I worked on it off and on throughout the whole summer.
If you had two more days to work on your mod, would you improve or change anything?
Yes, of course. I would have made a little paint touchups here and there. I will eventually get around to doing these touchups in the future.
Do you consider your mod completed/finalized or do you have further plans in store for it?
I do not think my mod is completed. I constantly add things to improve it more and more.
How'd you come up with the name for your mod?
A mix between something my cousin was talking about and a song I was listening to at the time.
What got you interested in the PC Club CM4 contest? How'd you place? Any comments about the contest?
Being able to share my mod with the nation and the prizes are what got me interested in the contest. I placed 2nd this year.
What's your favorite tool? Why?
The dremel, because it is so handy and you can do all kinds of different things with it.
What's your favorite material to work with? Why?
Aluminum, it is light and easier to work with as opposed to steel.
Are there any other modders that you look up to or admire?
YES! There are so many I cant list them all. Most of them are from www.pcclub.com and www.gruntville.com. One person in piticular I can think of is TribalOverkill from gruntville and many other modding sites.
Would you ever work on a collaborative project with another modder? If you could pick your team, who would it be?
That would be fun working on a collaborative project with fellow modders. It depends on what the mod was exactly for me to pick my team.
If you could create your own PC with an infinite budget, what would you put in it?
I would build a computer with the best of AMD, DFI, Nvidia, Corsair, and Western Digital. I would name certain models, but by the time this article is published, there will be something even better made by these great companies.
Thanks for your time and good luck in the future.
