Heat Shrink PDF Print E-mail

If you want good quality heatshrink, read on. :) If you want good quality heatshrink, read on. :)

Cable Organizer also sent me some heatshrink to test, and well as far as heat shrink goes, it's a good buy. The heatshrink comes in many colors, to suit the job and perhaps color code so you know what is under the shrink.

Yes, they sent me pink! I found that the heatshrink stretches a little bit but not enough to really expand its overall diameter. Under the flame of a match, the heatshrink shrunk quickly and easily with no dripping or burn marks, unless you hold the match there a bit after it shrinks. It also dissapated heat very quickly. A heatgun would be better for controlled area and temperature. As for endurance, the heatshrink is pretty durable other than after I rubbed it on concrete a bit it began to peel in a manner similar to how your skin peels when you skin your knee.

Heatshrink is easy to cut and comes out very clean when cut by a knife. It's very easy to use and apply. If you use it to close an end, just heat the end up and push the end onto a flat surface, and you should have a clean endcap. In the visual appeal area, heat shrink looks very clean and nice, while keeping your wires protected.

The heatshrink recieves a 99% rating, because it only rubs off under extreme circumstances that you probably won't put it through, especially inside of your computer.
