Visually attractive sleeving that is a definite positive for most cases. It just needs a few extras. Visually nice sleeving that is a definite positive for most cases. It just needs a few extras.

I recieved some Chrome Braided Sleeving from CableOrganizer.com.

The friction test revealed that you will get a frayed look to the braiding and it will start to seperate, and the cutting test, as you can see above in the bottom left corner in the picture above. As you can see, it does look very good before you put it over some wires.

I went ahead and quickly sleeved a small molex cable, it was very easy to do. The chrome is exceptionally elastic so it was easy to increase the diameter of the sleeving to fit around the molex plugs. The only complaint I have in this area, is that the ends of the sleeving do not look clean. They fray. So I believe that with this chrome, little rings to hold the frays down should be included. If you know that the sleeving is going to stay on that cable for a while, you can actually use a little super glue to hold the ends together. Clear nail polish would work too, but knowing that nail polish rubs off easier, I opted for super glue. Once you put the wires in though, you can see the colors of the wires inside slightly...

Once the chrome is lit up though, you cannot tell the color of the wires inside:

The flame test proved more interesting than most of the others. This sleeving caught fire relatively easy, but it doesn't store heat for very long. It's not going to catch fire inside your case, unless something else does first. But when it does catch fire....well, look for yourself:

Those bubbles and the hole in the side are whats left after a quick runover with a match. If this stuff was to catch on fire in your computer case somehow, it would drip all over the wires, probably melt the insulation, and destroy components. I don't consider it dangerous, but if you think your case is going to malfunction with sparks, etc. then you better get some different sleeving.

Overall, The Chrome Braided Sleeving from CableOrganizer.com was okay. It lights on fire too easily and doesn't end very cleanly after a cut, but it does look nice and expands to at least double, if not triple it's original diameter, making it very easy to get over wires with plugs on them. It recieves an 80% on the scale. If you want cool looking sleeving, won't have a cookout near the cables anytime soon, and don't mind a little extra effort to clean up the frays, you'll want to check out this sleeving.

A big thank you goes to Joe and CableOrganizer.com for making this review possible by submitting cable sleeving products.
