Page 1 of 3 Func Industries has been known to release great gaming pads with their signature dual-sided surfaces. Going at it again with the release of their new Archetype, Func has combined their dual sided surface with a more affordable base component (aluminum is available however) and some extra room to make their newest gaming pad, the sUrface 1030 Archetype. Can it stand up to some serious gaming and universal application use? or are you better off using a coffee coaster? Lets find out.

Lets get this underway with a quote from Func Industries website about their new Archetype mousing surface:
Archetype /'är-ki-"tIp/ - 1. (noun) the original type or model, after which all other similar and subsequent things are merely patterned, copied, or emulated.
The redesigned sUrface1030 Archetype mousing solution takes everything you love about the original sUrface1030 product and steps it up a notch. There's a new look, new materials have been used in the production of the base component, the cord clip has been improved and much more!
More than 20% larger than before!
We have increased the size of the mousing area by more than 20%!
Soft as Suede or Hard as Nails
The base component, which holds the mousing surface in place, is made from either Soft-Feel Hard Plastic or Machined Billet Aluminum. Both bases also incorporate 'finger holes' which allow you to quickly and easily flip the surface sheet over.
Keeping that pesky cord out of your way!
The new (and improved) mouse cord clip is made from a higher-grade plastic and grips the base better than ever." |
After reading all of that, is Func just blowing smoke about their newest release? Or are they speaking the truth about their new mousing surface? That's what we're here to determine. Onward!
