Silverstone’s Strider ST40F
This PSU is Silverstone’s Strider model. A 400 watt Power supply with dual 12 volt rails, this is a PSU designed with the enthusiast in mind. The Silverstone Strider ST40F is an aesthetically pleasing PSU. Covered in a high gloss titanium black zinc finish, this PSU isn’t overbearing or tacky. However, it does a great job complimenting virtually any setup. It does smudge fairly easily though.
Cooling is provided by a 120mm fan in the bottom.
Weight is always an important factor in power supplies; a good rule of thumb is the heavier the PSU is, the better. The ST40F is reassuringly heavy, indicating the presence of beefy heat sinks to cool the hot running components of power supplies. Opening the unit up, you can see just how things are inside.
Catering to the enthusiast, the main ATX cable and P4 supplementary power connector are sleeved and come with black connectors. While all the cables use black attachments, it would be nice to see all the cables sleeved.
