We've all run into the issue of dust. All
over the place, in the air, under the couch, on those old Commodores
lying around your place, and of course inside your PC. You can buy
filters which eliminate a lot of the dust that would take up residence
in your chassis but have you ever thought about your fans and how much
dust they can accumulate internally? That's right, the fans that your
system depend upon for cooling are probably getting filled with dust
that could potentially shorten their life.
A fan that has accumulated a decent amount of dust. There's
a space around the core of the fan where if you look closely you'll
probably get a glimpse of some kind of circuitry. Dust get's in there
too; and that can't be healthy. Acousti Products took the logical
approach and put a seal around that space in their new Dustproof
AcoustiFan. The seal not only keeps dust from getting in, it helps to
keep sound from getting out.
The seal (top:highlighted red).Above
you can see a few pictures of the seal, it closes that gap nicely and
didn't allow any dust into the fan. Mission accomplished.
We said there were a few extra items that
we received to help dampen vibration, so head on over to the next page
for those. If you don't want to see those, just skip to page 5 for our
conclusion.
