Page 1 of 2 Air cooling still reigns supreme, at least by the percentage of users; watercooling, phase change, and other extreme methods are used by few. With air cooling, a higher CFM fan usually translates to lower temperatures; the problem with high CFM fans is that a lot of users hate the noise that accompanies their high throughput. Silent fans have been on the market for a while, but finding a good one is a challenge. Usually the best route to go is to get as many 120mm silent fans as you can into your case, because they have a higher CFM with lower rotations per minute.
