Sorry for the abbreviated version of news today. We've had some server DNS issues that kept us busy all weekend, and this was a post we originally made Monday which I am restoring as well as adding some new ones.

Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC3-12800 @ XSReviews

Crucial have always been one of the more popular high-end memory manufacturers, with their Crucial Ballistix kits being an overclockers favourite. However, Crucial do another kit, known as the Ballistix Tracer sporting black heatspreaders and fancy LED lighting. Let's see if they're as good as we hope.

Nvidia GTX-260 Core 216 VS ATI 4870 1GB 5 Game Shootout @ Bjorn3D

So what games are we running in the Shootout, lets see there's PacMan, QBert, SpaceInvaders, Pong, and Asteroids. Oh wait a minute, flashback, it's FarCry 2, DeadSpace, Fallout 3, Call Of Duty World At War, and Left 4 Dead. Must have been thatroad trip during the 60's. I knew that Koolaid tasted funny.

Asus P6T Deluxe @ Bjorn3D

We were lucky enough to get an Asus P6T Deluxe early and put it through extensivetesting. We've run this board for several weeks on a daily basis, had so many GPU'sand combinations of GPU's on the board that it makes our heads spin thinking aboutit. Every piece of hardware we've connected to this board, and every feature we wereable to test has worked like it would work on a well proven, well tested veteranboard.

MSI N280GTX SUPER OC review @ ModReactor

It's not that MSI N280GTX Super OC is no good. Thing is it's just not for everybody. On the other hand we speak of class in which all that matters is performance, class the customers of which are interested less in the price than in obtaining the very best. If you are one of those people, that's probably your card - unquestionably the fastest single core NVIDIA model on the market.

Zotac AMP Graphics Card Round Up @ Virtual-Hideout

Zotac has been around for a few years now and finally heating things up by providing anything but stock graphics cards. The thing that stands out most about these guys, if you haven't browsed their product line yet, is that everything comes "AMP". That means, you won't find any stock frequencies here, but factory overclocked and tuned graphics cards. Their slogan is, "It's Time to Play".

Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P @ Bjorn3D

Gigabyte has recently launched a line of motherboards featuring “Ultra Durable 3”. What is Ultra Durable, you ask? Well, it features the Ultra Durable that Gigabyte has been talking for a few years now that includes their Dynamic Energy Saver, where the motherboard will throttle down to save some power. We have previously looked at this feature with our X38 reviews (EX38-DS4 or EP35-DS4). The Ultra Durable 3 steps even further in terms of cooling of the motherboard. Gigabyte has designed the motherboard with “2oz of Copper and 2oz Copper Power and Ground layers for dramatically lower system temperature, improved energy efficiency, and enhanced stability for overclocking.” In addition, the motherboard also features Japanese Solid Capacitors, Lower RDS MOSFET, and Ferrite Core Choke.

ZOTAC GeForce 9800 GT 512MB AMP Video Card @ TheTechLounge

One of the greatest things about fabrication processes is that they can be shrunk. Assuming that your architecture is forward-thinking enough, and it navigates issues with power plane-mapping and transistor leakage and all that, you can take your design, make it smaller, run it faster, and use less power. ATI has reaped great successes going from 65nm to 55nm, and NVIDIA is going the same way with their G92 parts. This process will take their 8800 GT, an excellent performer at the time of its release, rename it 9800 GT, and reap away. I mean, that would be the way to do it if you wanted to make any sense whatsoever. Because this is a regular ol' 65nm part.

Lenovo IdeaPad S10 10.2-inch Laptop Review @ ThinkComputers

Subnotebooks or netbooks are becoming extremely popular. It seems like everyone is coming out with some type of netbook. They are very appealing to consumers because most people use their laptops for word processing and surfing the web and the low prices of these laptops make them an easy buy. Also most netbooks are compact and small, which makes them easy to travel with. Today we will be looking at Lenovo's IdeaPad S10, which is a 10.2-inch netbook that features an Intel Atom processor and 1GB of memory. Let's see if this is the netbook for you!

XFX GeForce 9800 GTX+ Black Edition 512MB @ Elite Bastards

While it isn't trying to live up to the standards set by their XXX range of boards, the GeForce 9800 GTX+ Black Edition does sport some modest factory overclocks against a reference board. Oddly, these clock speed changes actually sees the GPU core clock drop very slightly (down to 785MHz from 788MHz), but this is more than compensated for by an increase in the board's shader clock to 1900MHz (from 1836MHz on a reference part).

Corsair Flash Voyager Review - Part 1 (8GB) @ JonnyGURU

Today's review is actually the first part of a two part review. Recently, Corsair released their Voyager 64GB flash drive. 64GB? Good lord! That's 30 times larger than the hard drive I had 10 years ago! It's probably still larger than the hard drives of some of our readers.

G.Skill F2-6400CL4D-4GPI-B DDR2 Memory @ Virtual-Hideout

Though G.Skill's kit managed to melt it's wax wings on the path to greatness, it still managed to impress a fair bit before it plummeted back to the earth. Though it managed only 1,000 MHz, this is still a 25% overclock, so to speak - something which is quite impressive on a kit that runs for under $90.

Abit AN78GS Review @ OCC

I was impressed by the Abit AN78GS performance. In almost every game test, it had the advantage over the comparison boards. It was always a few frames per second over the top of the pile, except in Call of Duty 4, where it fell short at higher resolutions. Furthermore, the GeForce 8200 integrated graphics processor can allow great energy savings if the Hybrid power technology is turned on.

Mushkin HP3 10666 2x2GB Review @ OCC

Mushkin's slogan is "Get More". Did I? Why, yes, yes I did. At stock speeds, the Mushkin modules consistently performed almost identically the same as most of the 2x1GB sets. This, while running looser latencies to do it. Most of the 2x1GB kits are able to reduce the latencies to 6-5-5-16 at 1333MHz, but I was unable to make this happen on the HP3 10666 2x2GB set.

Palit Revolution 700 Deluxe - HD 4870 X2 2048 MB @ techPowerUp

Palit's new Revolution 700 Deluxe is the first graphics card that occupies three slots in your PC. The massive cooling assembly successfully increases overclocking performance, lowers temperature and reduces fan noise. But is that good enough to beat the AMD reference design?

Silicon Power 32GB SLC SATA-II SSD @ Benchmark Reviews

Silicon Power is a rather unknown player in the North American marketplace, despite having numerous products available to the retail market. Not very long ago, Benchmark Reviews tested the first-generation Silicon Power SATA SSD. In that article we found ourselves torn between performance that left some room for improvement, and the press release announcement that Silicon Power had a new SATA-II SSD product ready to launch. As fortune would have it, we didn't have to wait very long to see if the marketing hype was true. In this article, the Silicon Power 32GB SLC SATA-II SSD SP032GBSSD750S25 receives benchmark testing and gets compared against a dozen other high-performance Solid State Drives.

HIS Radeon 4670, 4830 & 4850 Mid Range Round-Up @ OC3D

Asus Xonar D1 Review @ OCC

Where the Xonar D1 takes off into orbit is with multi-channel audio! The implementation of Dolby Headphone and Dolby Virtual Speaker work a lot better than Creative's CMSS-3D. This means that games and movies sound incredible from headphones, something that is important if you like to play games or watch movies late at night. I do, that's why I bought reference headphones and made my own headphone amplifier, so that I can enjoy high quality audio at any time of the day. With the Xonar D1, I can now enjoy high quality surround sound at unsociable hours. The EAX implementation, in the form of DS3D GX, is not exactly as good as Creative's hardware EAX, but it comes close, and I prefer the Xonar's Dolby Headphone + DS3D GX to the X-Fi's CMSS-3D + EAX. You would laugh if you saw me during this review, regularly trying to turn my speaker amplifier down in fear of waking the neighbours, when I was actually listening to headphones!

Intel Core i7 - Choosing the Best Memory Kit @ Techgage

Can't decide on the right memory kit to pick up with your brand-new Core i7 PC upon release? This article was designed for you. We aren't comparing brands here, but are rather comparing densities and frequencies against each other to see if there's any point at all in purchasing a higher-end kit. You might just be surprised at our results.
