*/World at War isn't a bad game, it just isn't a very remarkable one despite bearing the //Call of Duty moniker. Again, //World at War has fallen victim to the Treyarch curse, but it's also got the double whammy of being set in the Pacific theatre. Decent co-op and multiplayer are blessings, but they can't counteract the curses completely.

The Badaboom Media Converter was amazing to use and the fact that it completely transcodes a DVD using a bit rate of 2500kbit at a resolution of 480x320 in under 16 minutes was amazing. Two years ago it took me 3-4 hours to transcode a DVD using a bit rate of 237kbps and a resolution of 320x240! The performance gains that can be had with stream computing are obvious and I'm a big fan of using the GPU to complete tasks like transcoding. If you have an NVIDIA graphics cards that supports CUDA then this is something you have to try out to believe it...

AMD is the top dog when it comes to gaming graphics performance right now and they are now shifting their focus to countering NVIDIA's CUDA technology. By releasing a media converter for free that supports more video formats then Elemental Technologies' $29.99 Badaboom media converter it is a great way to get things going and introduce ATI Stream Technology branding. For nearly a year now AMD has been telling us that they support open standards and that seems like it might start paying off for them come 2009...

I am definitely impressed with this Lian Li PC-A77B full tower chassis. Being a fan of simplistic yet useful design, this case has it all. The top mounted I/O ports are in a great location to access while using the computer. Lian Li has designed this case to allow you to install your components in many different configurations, which makes customizing your setup very convenient.

AMD claims to have 2 million HD 4000 series GPUs in the marketcreating a pretty large user base for ATI stream compatible applications. As of today, stream applications are NOT enabled with publicly availabledrivers but that will be addressed in the next revision of Catalyst comingin December. Once that update is ready, all 2 million of the Radeon HD4000-series cards should be stream compute ready and will be able todownload the new Avivo Transcoder for free as well.

So what can we say about this beauty from Smooth Creations? For the intended audience it’s great. If you appreciate art or really want a departure from the norm for your next gaming PC, Smooth Creations' LANShark is one to keep on your short list. However the one thing I’ve left out until now is the price. At $2,537 this is not an inexpensive machine, but it really isn’t an incredible amount of money over the sum of its parts. When you consider the amount of work that’s been put in, the 1 year warranty on the parts, and the lifetime warranty on the paint (excludes scratching and chipping of course) it really isn’t a bad price if you’re in the market for a system you don’t put together yourself...

Though G.Skill's kit managed to melt it's wax wings on the path togreatness, it still managed to impress a fair bit before it plummeted backto the earth. Though it managed only 1,000 MHz, this is still a 25%overclock, so to speak - something which is quite impressive on a kit thatruns for under $90. Even if you don't intend to overclock, these modulespack a fair punch with their low latencies, great build quality, and oddly, lower cost than the rest of the flock. Considering these few graces, as wellas the small tokens inside the package, I'd have to say that I recommendthis kit to anyone looking for a quick fix in terms of a memory upgrade -something that will simply drop in and work - now that's peace of mind.

Today's review is actually the first part of a two part review.Recently, Corsair released their Voyager 64GB flash drive. 64GB? Good lord! That's 30 times larger than the hard drive I had 10 years ago! It's probablystill larger than the hard drives of some of our readers. Unless you have abig MP3 or porn collection, 64GB is pretty hard to fill up.

*/The Antec Skeleton is a desperately frustrating product in so many ways, not least because we'd allowed ourselves to believe it could be something special, that it could prove that open air setups don't have to just be for benchmarketeers like ourselves and that it really could offer a compelling alternative to the upgrade happy enthusiast.
