Every once and a while a review opportunity arises for us that is something a little different than we usually review here. Sometimes that may be a small gadget with almost no relation to technology and other times it may be really large wonders that are from an area we don't usually review in. Today, that is just the case for us because the 50" Samsung PN50A650 plasma TV that's just been carried into my living room certainly falls into the category of a product not commonly reviewed here. To match up with the PN50A650 TV they have also sent us their latest bluray player, the BD-P1500. [read more] You may remember our Scythe S-Flex review that came out earlier this year. In it, we reviewed the three current models of S-Flex fans that were on the market, the "D", "E" and "F" variants. These fans ranged from a low noise 800rpm model up to a higher noise and higher airflow model running at 1200rpm. Today we were just sent the fourth addition to this series, the "G" model. This is an even higher model than the "F" variant, offering much more airflow. [read more] We've known Scythe from the past for their many excellent CPU coolers and cooling fans that we have reviewed. Today the Musashi is crossing our test bed. This is a brand new product for Scythe who are also entering the graphics card cooling arena as well. The Musashi is a dual-fan large cooler for most Nvidia and ATI graphics chipsets. Bringing promises of better temperatures and more manageable noise levels than stock coolers, I'm excited to see how well the Musashi will perform in real world conditions! [read more]
