  • Left 4 Dead
In a few days Valves latest creation is released to the world: Left 4 Dead. We've played the demo for both Xbox360 and PC. Granted, we are probably biased to the PC edition, however, we still feel that the PC version is objectively better. On expert it seems more challenging than the console version. In any case, we're impressed with the demo and if you haven't tried it yet, you should. With all the features that have been crammed into L4D and the combination of a intriguing story with solid multiplayer cooperative gameplay, it melds the Half-Life experience with Counter-Strike. We don't expect anything short of exceptional and if the demo is any inclination of what is to come, the game is going to be a must-have for the 2008 holiday season and probably the year. If you haven't checked it out yet, download the demo via Steam (www.steampowered.com (http://www.steampowered.com)) or get it on Xbox LIVE. Official Site: www.l4d.com (http://www.l4d.com)

  • Func C-Series
It's tied up, 12-12, your teammates are dead and with a little work, you've fragged 4/5 members of the other team. 1 to go. Off to your right, you hear a footstep; you snap the mouse to the right across your mousepad, prepped to shoot and win, and... your mouse hits the floor. Game over. Mouse pads and their construction is important to computer users, whether for games or for design purposes, mousepads have two huge factors: size and surface. Func Industries has released a new line of cloth mousepads, the C-series. How do they hold up? How are they against acrylic pads? Does their Dye Sublimation process really work better than normal dying techniques? We shall see.

Point of View GeForce 9400 GT 1024 MB Wall-E Edition NVIDIA's new GeForce 9400 GT Series is based on the same G96 GPU that is also used on the 9500 GT. The 9400 GT has half the shaders however, which seriously limits the uses of the card in a gaming PC. On the other hand this greatly reduces the heat output which allows a completely passive solution. Point of View differentiates their card by using 1 GB of video memory and bundling a full version of the Wall-E game. http://www.techpowerup.com (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Point_Of_View/GeForce_9400_GT_1_GB)

Raidmax Iceberg Mid Tower @ Pro-Clockers The criteria to get on my desk are rather stringent. A case has to be sturdy. After all, it's sitting on top of a desk and is subject to gravity, especially during Battlefield 2142 sessions. It must be rather spacious inside. I trade out parts frequently and I hate cases that are stingy on the square footage. The build quality must be top notch. This goes beyond the basic toughness. A case has to look nice and be well-built which means all doors and panels are flush, the buttons work, I/O panels function, and there can be absolutely no sharp edges. My tetanus shots aren't up to date and I'm not ready for a booster. To get a case in that soon to be coveted position, a company pretty much has to showcase their ingenuity and dedication to quality. http://www.pro-clockers.com (http://www.pro-clockers.com/reviews/?id=98)

Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H Motherboard Review I'm of two minds on the 790GX chipset in general. Yes this is the fastest integrated graphics on the market period. Yes, it features the new SB750 Southbridge which adds RAID 5 functionality to the chipset, and yes, the chipset supports CrossfireX in 2 x8 modes. The problem becomes what is it competing against at the $150 price point? The 780G chipset offers many of the same features besides ACC as the new GX one does, but it has a lower clock speed. Is it better to save the $60 and buy a discrete graphics card to get better overall performance? The other end of the spectrum in the chipset is the competition from the 790FX chipset. 790FX motherboards are available for the same price point as the 790GP-DS4H board, meaning that the user will likely have to compare whether ACC and the HD3300 is worth the difference between the ability to run four cards in CrossFireX mode at full speed. http://www.motherboards.org/ (http://www.motherboards.org/reviews/motherboards/1813_1.html)
